Because of the popularity of smartphones, the available Chevy MyLink infotainment system can be paired with compatible versions of the Apple iPhone and Android-platform devices. The touchscreen in the Chevy Colorado basically becomes an extension of the mobile device. Drivers can use a number of different applications from the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto suites, without being in violation of local laws. Additionally, the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is available and can be connected to several devices.
Powertrain options
Buyers interested in the Chevy Colorado will have two gasoline-powered engines to choose from. Base models have a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood which will produce 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. Mated with a six-speed manual transmission, the Colorado can return fuel economy scores of nearly 30 miles per gallon on the highway. The most popular powertrain option is the V-6 engine (305 horsepower) and six-speed automatic transmission (26 mpg highway).
Maximum Towing
The ability to pull a trailer is a major factor in the choice of a pickup truck, even a midsize model. To be able to tow nearly four tons, the Chevy Colorado has the option of having a turbocharged, 2.8-liter, diesel engine installed. With 369 pound-feet of torque available and the proper equipment installed, the Colorado will be able to pull a trailer weighing 7,700 pounds. Additionally the diesel-powered version of the Chevy Colorado is very fuel-efficient.
